We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. A.W. Tozer
Therefore let God-inspired Scripture decide between us; and on whichever side be found doctrines in harmony with the word of God, in favor of that side will be cast the vote of truth. --Basil of Caesarea
Once you learn to discern, there's no going back. You will begin to spot the lie everywhere it appears.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service. 1 Timothy 1:12

Good, Bad, and Ugly

Today I’ve got a back log of links to share with all sorts of articles.  Also, I’m still looking for homes for lots of books, as listed on this post. I’ve already sent out 15 books from the list (I deleted those no longer available)!

The Good:
Some good articles discussing transubstantiation have been published by Christian Apologetics & Research Ministry:

Who were the Pharisees? Looks like they had four good doctrinal positions.

Contrary to the claims of Jehovah’s Witnesses and Seventh-day Adventist, the archangel Michael is NOT Jesus.  And for the Mormons, he isn’t Adam either!

Biblical prophets vs modern prophets — some good thoughts.

A great list of scientists who disagree with Darwinism.

Rational Christian Discernment blog posts a lot of good articles exposing Roman Catholicism; I highly recommend it. (Jesse also posts about other subjects.)

The Bad and/or Ugly
Discerning people KNEW the claim about a trip to heaven was a lie, but Tyndale was more interested in making more money than protecting the flock from false teachings.

Run from Bethel Redding as fast as you can!

Brian Houston of Hillsong is downright heretical.

The “Jesus is my boyfriend” ideology just keeps spreading.  Mark and beware of the authors noted in this article.

Matt Chandler is now giving prophecies.

More proof that Steven Furtick is not qualified to be a pastor.

More proof that the Roman Catholic Church is anti-God; the Vatican and other Catholic sources are spending millions of dollars to support illegal immigrants. I thought Christians were supposed to obey the laws of the land! Even worse, the Pope is teaching heresy!

Another article proving the Episcopal Church no longer has a right to consider itself Christian.

That Rational Christian blog has a few good articles. But I would not give that site the time of day. Here's why. The author there seems to have this major obsession with the Roman Catholic Church. That makes me very uncomfortable. Catholics are Christians. The writing style there is that of a sixth grader!

Anonymous,

Rational Christian Discernment is rife with excellent articles, written very intelligently. You libel it because you are obviously a papist.

One of the author's major focuses is indeed Roman Catholicism because he used to be a part of that organization. There is nothing wrong with having a site which has a major focus on any topic -- that doesn't make it an "obsession." Before I split my blog into two (general apologetics and anti-Mormon apologetics) you could say I had an obsession with Mormonism. I came out of the Mormon Church and therefore spend a lot of time exposing it and educating people about it.

SOME Catholics may be Christians, buy in my many years of experience they are few and far between because once they become a Christian they leave that church. The Roman Catholic Church is NOT a Christian organization, and is a very cultic, works-oriented theology. It has major heresies in its teachings, as well as horrid aberrations.

It is the TRUTH that makes you feel uncomfortable.
